Crochet Hacks (US terminology)
Chainless Foundation Single Crochet
- Make a slip knot
- Ch 2.
- Insert hook in 1st Ch (in 2 STRANDS!!), y/o and pull up a loop, y/o pull through 1 loop on hook, y/o pull through 2 loops o hook.
- *Insert hook in 2nd 'V' from hook (in 2 strands!), y/o and pull up a loop, y/o pull through 1 loop on hook, y/o pull through 2 loops o hook.*
- Repeat * for as many Stitches as pattern requires (NOT number of chains required).
- For the following rows, continue as you would with a regular foundation chain and Sc row.
Chainless Foundation Double Crochet
- Make a slip knot
- Ch 2.
- Yarn over, insert hook in 1st Ch (in 2 STRANDS!!), y/o and pull up a loop, y/o pull through 1 loop on hook, *y/o pull through 2 loops o hook*, repeat * 2 times.
- **Y/o, insert hook in 2nd 'V' from hook (in 2 strands!), y/o and pull up a loop, y/o pull through 1 loop on hook, *y/o pull through 2 loops o hook, repeat * 2 times.**
- Repeat ** for as many Stitches as pattern requires (NOT number of chains required).
- For the following rows, continue as you would with a regular foundation chain and Dc row.
Special Knot for Connecting 2 Yarn Ends
- Wrap the end of the NEW yarn around finger.
- Make sure that the knot slips to the RIGHT of the center (not the left), otherwise, the know will not hold!!!
